About Creative Nomad

When I moved to Orillia in 2015, I wasn’t sure what my life was supposed to look like here. As I got to know the town, I kept walking past this empty building—abandoned for 21 years—and wondering why. And then I started imagining what it could be.

After 18 months of chasing down the owner and pitching proposal after rejected proposal, one finally stuck. Throughout that process, I was also working out the feasibility of my vision. My husband, John, was always there in the background, supporting every step.
 

The space needed to reflect who I am:
creative, entrepreneurial, community-focused.
A place where people actually wanted to be.
A place where people felt supported, nurtured, and celebrated.
 

Creative Nomad evolved through listening.
 

The event space became what it is today because the community kept showing up and asking, “Do you do 'this'… could you do 'that'?”
The coworking space exists because people needed professional workspace that didn’t feel sterile.
The photography studio rental came to life because photographers saw beauty and potential in our walls.
 

We built this place by paying attention to what people actually wanted and needed.
 

We believe in community.
